PPO® ForExt – Wildfire suppression agent

A modern and environmentally responsible solution for wildland firefighting

PPO® ForExt (Forest Fire Extinguishing Agent) is a Finnish, fluorine-free, heavy metal-free and halogen-free wildfire suppression agent designed for fast, effective and environmentally responsible wildland firefighting. The product is used in Finland and has been tested in several countries under demanding conditions, attracting strong international interest.

ForExt is mixed with water at a very low ratio and is compatible with all standard firefighting equipment. It enhances water’s suppression performance, improves cooling, increases adhesion to vegetation and ground surfaces, and helps reduce the risk of re-ignition.

The composition is free of PFAS, halogens, heavy metals and other persistent harmful substances. ForExt has been evaluated by an independent chemical assessor and is designed to be safe for soil, water and operators.

PPO® ForExt is a wildfire suppression agent designed for effective firefighting with a strong focus on environmental and operational safety. It leaves no persistent residues, contains no PBT or vPvB substances, and has no identified endocrine-disrupting effects. When used at the recommended dilution ratios, ForExt is safe to handle and apply in demanding firefighting conditions.

The safety of ForExt is based on its carefully designed composition, independent chemical expert assessments, PPO-Elektroniikka’s long-standing safety expertise and Kiilto’s experience in developing responsible chemical solutions.

ForExt is stable in storage for up to 10 years, is not regulated for transport (ADR/RID, IMDG, IATA), and does not require hazard labelling under the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
