A Game-Changing Forest Firefighting Collaboration
PPO-Elektroniikka Oy, a Finnish safety technology company, has started collaborating with Caylym Technologies International LLC, a U.S. operator of aerial firefighting. The combined solution provides a new, highly effective method for combating wildfires worldwide.
The PPO® ForExt Firefighting Agent
Developed by PPO-Elektroniikka and manufactured by Kiilto, PPO® ForExt is a fluorine- and halogen-free forest fire extinguishing agent. It mixes with water at a 1:100 ratio and is first applied to the fire’s edges, preventing it from spreading above and below ground. It can then be used for direct extinguishing.
The ForExt/water mixture can be spread from any existing firefighting equipment, such as helicopters, aeroplanes, fire trucks or special equipment designed for forest fires; it works excellently without clogging water cannons, shower pipes, pumps, even the tiniest ones because its velocity such as water.
According to chemical legislation (CLP Regulation No. 1272/2008 EC), ForExt is not hazardous to humans or the environment. According to the Product Safety Assessment, ForExt components are not classified in any hazard category under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).
Caylym’s Guardian™ System
Caylym’s Guardian™ System converts standard cargo planes into firefighting aircraft. The system drops 1,000-liter biodegradable containers of firefighting liquid from high altitudes, ensuring safe and efficient aerial fire suppression. The controlled release creates a “rain event” effect, optimizing liquid distribution for maximum impact.
